This event gives Trustees the essential knowledge about their statutory and other responsibilities, covering legal and financial duties and strategic behaviour. A vital session is included on preparing for the forthcoming Data Protection changes focussing on GDPR. The content has been updated to include new scenarios including Cyber crime, and the new Charity Governance Code.

Alix Garfath-Cox is a manager in the Not for Profit team of Crowe Clark Whitehill LLP. Alix’s clients include a wide range of schools and charities. Having previously worked in an international non-governmental organisation as Director of Finance for 4 years, including 6 months on placement in a finance team in Rwanda, Alix is a specialist in accounting for organisations operating internationally.  Crowe Clark Whitehill LLP work with a wide variety of clients in the Not for Profit sector, including several hundred charities and educational establishments, as well as registered social landlords, industrial and provident societies, trade unions, members associations, clubs and other not for profit bodies.

Ian Burrows is a specialist Charity Investment Manager and a Divisional Director of Brewin Dolphin. Ian has 17 years’ experience in the investment industry, is a Chartered Wealth Manager and Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI). Ian is also a member of the CISI Expert Panel writing and reviewing exam questions, holds the Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners Certificate for Financial Services and is a member of investment sub-committee of Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charities.

Richard Levinge, Director, Ease Training

Richard Levinge is the Director and founder of Ease Training. Richard has been Chair of a charity and a trustee of a major charitable project. Richard has a passion for practical training based on many years training experience with roles in the Royal Navy, legal services, charities and education.
