Today, Wednesday 11th January, we have been in Bristol for Charity Trustee Training. Our first Charity event of 2017! Thank you to our delegates from a range of Bristol-based charities, who made it a great day.
This morning, we discussed the legal duties of a Trustee, led by Con Alexander, a Partner from Veale Wasbrough Vizards LLP. Both the legal and regulatory frameworks were considered in detail, followed by liability, accountability and more.
Alix Garfath-Cox from Crowe Clark Whitehill LLP also joined us to talk about the financial duties of a trustee, offering a fantastic list of ‘Key Systems and Controls’. She also bravely tackled Charity fraud head on!
Richard Levinge from Ease Training took us through some new developments in Charity guidance in the afternoon, as well as the role of the Trustee – Governance, Trustee Behaviour and ‘Strategic vs Operational’.
Ease Training have had a great day and thank you Veale Wasbrough Vizards LLP for hosting us in a fantastic harbourside location. If you would like to join us at our next Charity Trustee Training, you can see our future dates here.
Hope to see you soon!
